‘We did our climb at twilight so we could watch the sun set and see the lights of the buildings as the sky darkened. Overall it was a great experience and one we will remember fondly. Our guide took several photos of everyone at various stages of the tour and offered them to us for purchase afterward. A very safe activity and not strenuous at all.’

  • What You Can Expect

A Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb at twilight adds another dimension to this once-in-a-lifetime experience. Climb the 1,332 steps to the top of the soaring steel arches with BridgeClimb Sydney as the light drops and the cityscape begins to shimmer against the darkening sky.

The Sydney Harbour Bridge Twilight Climb has seasonal departure times of between 3pm and 6pm (check your confirmation document for details). You’ll check in for your climb at the Sydney Harbour Bridge Visitor Centre, where participants are kitted out in their BridgeSuits and receive a full safety briefing. You’ll then set off with your climb leader through the bridge access tunnel and along the catwalk beneath the road deck that leads to the start of the climb at the South East Pylon.

All guests are attached to the structure with a safety wire. You’ll ascend the bridge on the Opera House side via a series of ladders, stairs and walkways, all the while surrounded by the all-encompassing views across the city and harbour. Along the way you’ll enjoy running commentary from your guide through a headset. There are regular stops and short breaks.

The ultimate reward for your efforts is the panoramic 360-degree view from the top of the bridge. After a summit photo opportunity with your group, you’ll cross the spine of the bridge to the Darling Harbour side and begin your descent.
