‘I would do this again in a heartbeat! I got more information about Sydney from the guides here than on any other tour. The views are fantastic. It’s also not a strenuous climb. There are some ladders, but you have to wait for the person before you to clear before you can climb, so there’s plenty of time to catch your breath if you need to. Even gearing up for the climb was fascinating, because it is a very defined process. Purchasing the photo package at the end is worth it if you like to scrapbook.’

What You Can Expect

The incredible Sydney Harbour Bridge Day Climb is a must-do during your visit to the Harbour City. Climb the 1,332 steps to the top of the soaring steel arches with BridgeClimb Sydney and enjoy the incomparable views. You’ll also learn some of the history of the bridge from your knowledgeable climb leader and receive plenty of encouragement as the climb progresses!

This amazing experience begins at the Sydney Harbour Bridge Visitor Centre, where you’ll be kitted out in your special BridgeSuit and receive a full safety briefing. You’ll then set off with your climb leader through the bridge access tunnel and along the catwalk beneath the road deck that leads to the start of the climb at the South East Pylon.

All guests are attached to the structure with a safety wire. You’ll ascend the bridge on the Opera House side via a series of ladders, stairs and walkways, all the while surrounded by the all-encompassing views across the city and harbour. Along the way you’ll enjoy running commentary from your guide through a headset. There are regular stops and short breaks.

The ultimate reward for your efforts is the panoramic 360-degree view from the top of the bridge. No matter what time of day you choose to climb, arriving at the summit is a breathtaking experience. After a summit photo opportunity with your group, you’ll cross the spine of the bridge to the Darling Harbour side and begin your descent.

After your Sydney Harbour Bridge Day Climb, you can spend some time immersing yourself in the history of the bridge by visiting the Pylon Lookout (entry is included in the cost of your climb). It houses a three-level museum dedicated to one of the world’s most famous structures.
