‘This was a really great tour. Our tour guide Julia made us feel very comfortable. She was very knowledgeable about the history of the buildings, restaurants and shops we went to, as well as the chocolate making process. We got to sample some amazing chocolate and she gave us lots of ideas for what to do around Melbourne during the rest of our stay.’

Tamsin was an excellent and knowledgeable guide. The tour was great fun. The highlight was OmNom. I will definitely be going back there again in future. I'd recommend this tour to locals and anyone visiting Melbourne that is after a sweet thing to do.

This was a great tour to end our trip on. My fiancé and I visited about 5 different chocolate shops around the CBD of Melbourne. We got to learn about the difference between white, milk and dark chocolate. We went to Dex2rose to enjoy an amazing hot chocolate with homemade marshmallows and a scoop of ice cream to go with it. Our tour guide Flick was amazing at her job and made sure to get to know each of her guests. The only issue we had with this tour was understanding where the tour started. We only had one way to contact them and it took 15 minutes to work out which arcade (shopping center) to meet them in front of. My suggestion would be to send guests a map of the starting point (especially those guests who are from the United States and do not understand what the CBD means).

My friend and I were very much looking forward to our choc/dessert tour and we were not disappointed. We had the best, most well informed few hours with Amanda. The tour was everything and more and Amanda's enthusiasm and passion for her tour, and participants, was simply amazing. We are Melbournians and we went up and down streets and laneways, and saw spots we had never before seen. Great mix of chocolate venues, great variety, great information (like, who knew there is a correct way to EAT chocolate!) and Amanda is so the right person for the job. We would highly recommend this tour to all and sundry.

This was a great tour for chocolate and dessert lovers. Our tour guide Amanda was friendly and very knowledgeable - not only on the chocolates and desserts that we enjoyed - but also lots of other aspects of Melbourne. She gave us some good recommendations for other places to eat, both sweet and savoury. This tour is well worth doing. We had some really great unexpected experiences!

  • What You Can Expect

Discover just how delicious Victoria’s capital really is on this relaxed small group Deluxe Melbourne Chocolate and Desserts Walking Tour. You’ll visit the city’s best chocolatiers and other wonderful purveyors of sweet treats! It’s a chocoholic’s delight!

This Melbourne Chocolate and Desserts Walking Tour operates daily. You’ll meet your friendly guide and fellow chocoholics in the city centre, before heading off on foot to explore the historic Block and Royal Arcades. Built between 1891 and 1893, the Block is home to many fine boutiques. You’ll have some time to admire the mosaic floor, the domed ceiling, and the fine Victorian heritage detail. The Royal Arcade is the oldest surviving shopping mall in the country, and again, the period finishes are truly stunning. Both arcades are home to celebrated boutique chocolatiers, and you’ll enjoy the first of many tastings throughout the tour.

Depending on the day, chocolate shops you may visit include Haigh’s Chocolates (a prestigious family company that’s been producing chocolate since the early 1900s), the Ganache Chocolate Lounge in Collins Street, and sumptuous Koko Black — one of the city’s best loved purveyors of fine confectionery. At each store, you’ll learn the story behind the business and enjoy a specially curated tasting experience. A hot chocolate is served at one of the stops.

You’ll have some time to browse the sweet delights on offer in each shop and take advantage of the exclusive participant discounts on offer. However, there’s absolutely no expectation for you to purchase anything.

This deluxe tour also features some extra special experiences, including a chocolate and cheese pairing. This involves nibbling on a generous selection of fine chocolates and specialty cheeses — at the same time! It’s mind-blowing!

Along the way, your guide will share plenty of interesting commentary — not only on chocolate and desserts, but also on Melbourne’s history and architectural points of interest.

This Melbourne Chocolate and Desserts Walking Tour is a delicious and decadent way to explore the inner city. Enjoy!
