‘This was our first visit to Cairns and what better way to see the amazing natural sights than with your own tour guide. Our guide made us laugh the whole day, which for us started at 7am and ended at 6pm! Everything was really well planned and although we ran a little behind schedule, I didn’t feel rushed at all. I highly recommend this tour even for little ones. I really can’t pick my favourite place that we visited, but that ice cream was amazing! Thanks again.’

Daniel took us on a fabulous tour to the Daintree and Cape Tribulation. He is an amazing guide - very knowledgeable, humorous and provides so much information. He was helpful and made sure the whole day ran smoothly. The tour itself was great, even if crocodiles were missing in action. Morning tea at Mossman Gorge was fantastic and a beautiful place to visit. Lunch was a traditional bbq at Noah Creek - Jody did an amazing job with catering and the food was delicious. Cape Tribulation was beautiful and Daniel did a great job in showing us the dangers that lurked in the rainforest. The trip back to the Daintree was sustained by delicious ice cream from the Daintree icecream company. Bruce, our boat driver and guide, on the Daintree river cruise was extremely knowledgeable as well, with a dry sense of humour. Overall this day trip was brilliant and I can’t recommend it highly enough.

Tour was excellently led by guide Daniel, who was extremely charismatic and knowledgeable, making for an awesome day. Pickup from hotel was very convenient and the bus was very comfortable. Daniel knew an incredible amount about the rainforest and coastal ecosystems, as well as the animals and the history of the area. Everything was very well organised and sites visited are absolutely stunning. Food provided was delicious :) A truely immersive, Australian experience.

  • What You Can Expect

This popular Daintree, Mossman Gorge and Cape Tribulation Tour from Cairns and Port Douglas is a truly awe-inspiring day out. Any day tour of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Daintree rainforest can only cover a handful of the highlights, but this one ensures that you tick off three signature experiences — a visit to iconic Mossman Gorge, a cruise on the Daintree River, and the chance to feel the sand between your toes at sublime Cape Tribulation. You’ll travel in modern comfortable transport, enjoy the services of an entertaining guide, and tuck into a traditional Aussie BBQ lunch. It’s the complete package!

Hotel pick-ups completed, you’ll head north towards Mossman Gorge. Your first stop is the Mossman Gorge Gateway Centre for morning tea. From there you’ll board a shuttle for the trip into the gorge itself. Your driver/guide will lead you on a short walk and share their expert knowledge of this verdant ecosystem.

The next highlight of the day is a one-hour cruise on the Daintree River. This is the habitat of many bird species, lizards and snakes, and of course, the infamous estuarine (saltwater) crocodile. Keep your eyes peeled for crocs sunning themselves on the muddy banks. They can be quite tricky to see!

This Daintree, Mossman Gorge and Cape Tribulation Tour enjoys special access to a private rainforest property, where you’ll enjoy a delicious tropical BBQ lunch. Choose from steak, fish or a vegetarian option, accompanied by fresh salads and a fruit platter. Coffee and tea are also served.

Next up, work off your lunch with a stroll on world-renowned Cape Tribulation beach. This is where the rainforest and reef meet, and you’ll have the opportunity to view the coastline and fringing reef from the Kulki Lookout.

It may be hot and humid, but you’ll feel refreshed after a stop at the Daintree Ice Cream Company. Enjoy a cup of exotic fruit ice cream, made from produce grown in the store’s own orchard.

All too soon this Daintree, Mossman Gorge and Cape Tribulation Tour heads for home, following what can only be described as a true day of discovery. You’ll make a final stop at a lookout that offers parting views of the Daintree River estuary and shimmering Coral Sea.
