‘We did this morning tour as we had to be back on board our cruise by 3pm. This was going to be our only chance to see some of the city, and we were not disappointed. The tour took in most of the things you would want to see as a tourist. We loved it and would recommend it to anyone who only has a short time to see Sydney.’ Anthonyjames1000

What you can expect

This Sydney Morning City Tour with Harbour Lunch Cruise combines three quintessential Sydney experiences in one fabulous morning — and at a significantly lower price than if you were booking each of the experiences individually. Sit back, relax and enjoy a coach tour of the key city sights with a knowledgeable local guide, take a relaxed guided stroll through The Rocks heritage precinct with a specialist guide, and enjoy a buffet lunch cruise with commentary on magnificent Sydney Harbour. A stroll on the golden sands of Bondi Beach is an added bonus! You’ll accomplish all this by 2pm, leaving you time to shop or do more sightseeing later in the day.

Once CBD hotel pick-ups are completed, your Sydney Morning City Tour with Harbour Lunch Cruise will get underway. Your first stop is The Rocks precinct on the harbour’s edge. This is one of the oldest parts of Sydney, and dates back to the first settlement. Here, you’ll enjoy a short guided walking tour. See amazing historical architecture and learn about the area’s storied past. You’ll wander along small cobbled laneways and through colonial-era passages. This is truly an opportunity to step back in time and immerse yourself in Old Sydney Town. [More]

From there, you’ll return to your comfortable coach before heading off to Mrs Macquarie’s Chair — one of the best places in the city for views of the sublime Sydney Opera House and the majestic Harbour Bridge. As you drive around the city, your guide will point out places of interest, including St Mary’s Cathedral, Parliament House, Sydney Tower, Town Hall, the Art Gallery of NSW, Chinatown, Darling Harbour and the beautiful Royal Botanic Garden.

You’ll also travel through the vibrant Kings Cross precinct — notorious in past decades for its shady characters and colourful nightlife, and trendy Paddington — where boutiques, bars and bustling cafes line both sides of Oxford Street. You’ll also take in some of the multi-million-dollar mansions of the Eastern Suburbs.

Your next stop on this Sydney Morning City Tour with Harbour Lunch Cruise is at Bondi Beach — possibly one of the most famous patches of sand in the world. Home to the hit TV series Bondi Rescue, you’ll have around 30 minutes to explore the esplanade or head down to the water’s edge for a quick paddle.

After all that sightseeing, you’ll have worked up an appetite and it’s time to board your buffet lunch cruise on magnificent Sydney Harbour with Captain Cook Cruises. Feast on chilled oysters, mussels, ocean prawns and succulent fish. Meat lovers and vegetarians are also well catered for with an abundance of hot dishes, salads, desserts and cheeses. It’s all accompanied by exquisite views of the harbour, and commentary about Sydney’s past, present and future. After lunch, wander up to the open top deck for some sunshine and postcard-perfect views of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge.

This Sydney Morning City Tour with Harbour Lunch Cruise ends at the King Street Wharf in bustling Darling Harbour. The afternoon is yours to spend exploring local attractions like SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium or the Australian National Maritime Museum at your leisure.

Had a lovely tour of Sydney. John was our driver and guide, he was wonderful! The guide makes the trip and he was outstanding.

I was looking for a tour that wouldn't take all day, but would still be memorable! We were pretty tired from our trip and wanted something a little more laid back. My husband and I truly enjoyed the guided tour. I felt like we got to spend a decent amount of time at each location. There are places that he pointed out that we were able to note and come back to on our own after the tour. We opted for the optional lunch cruise. The cruise itself was beautiful. We went under the bridge and had a clear view of the Opera House. The food – not impressed. I tried to eat and enjoy it, but it was quite disappointing. If there was a cheaper option without the food, then I would choose that. After we disembarked we found a nice eatery by the water and enjoyed a proper lunch.
