‘The tour started promptly and remained on schedule the entire day. Our guide Peter was as good as they get. He is very knowledgeable about the history of Sydney and the sights we toured, and he was able to pass that knowledge on to us in an interesting manner. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who is interested in learning more about Sydney and the surrounding area.’ Guide753905

What you can expect

There’s possibly no finer way to spend a day in the Harbour City than on this Sydney Full Day City Tour with Manly, Bondi and Lunch Cruise. This once-in-a-lifetime experience takes everything that makes Sydney so special and distils it down into one fabulous day out. See the city’s most famous icons and landmarks — including the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House; travel through opulent harbourside suburbs; stroll the golden sands of two of the city’s world-famous beaches; walk in the footsteps of our colonial forbears and hear their stories; cruise the magnificent harbour and dine on succulent seafood. A day doesn’t get any better than this!

Once CBD hotel pick-ups are completed, your Sydney Full Day City Tour will get underway. You’ll be travelling in a comfortable air-conditioned coach with a knowledgeable local guide. As you head north over the vast span of the ‘Coathanger’, you’ll be able to take in the first of many incredible views for the day. On the far side of the bridge, your driver will pull up at Milsons Point, where you’ll have the opportunity to take photographs of the bridge and city skyline. [More]

From there, you’ll drive through affluent harbourside residential enclaves towards the famous suburb of Manly. With both ocean and harbour foreshores, Manly has been Sydney’s recreational destination of choice for many decades. You’ll have some time to stroll along the famous Corso at Manly Beach and perhaps stop for coffee at one of many cafes that line the strip (at your own expense).

It’s soon time to board your included buffet lunch cruise on magnificent Sydney Harbour with Captain Cook Cruises. Feast on chilled oysters, mussels, ocean prawns and succulent fish. Meat lovers and vegetarians are also well catered for with an abundance of hot dishes, salads, desserts and cheeses. It’s all accompanied by exquisite views of the harbour, and commentary about Sydney’s past, present and possible future. After lunch, wander up to the open top deck for some sunshine and postcard-perfect views of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge.

In the afternoon, you’ll head back to the coach and commence some serious sightseeing around the Sydney CBD. See The Rocks heritage precinct where the story of modern Sydney began, and drive through the verdant Royal Botanical Garden. You’ll make a stop at Mrs Macquarie’s Chair — one of the best places in the city for views of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge.

After a visit to South Head and the Gap for more jaw-dropping vistas, your final stop on this Sydney Full Day City Tour is at Bondi Beach — possibly one of the most famous patches of sand in the world. Home to the hit TV series Bondi Rescue, you’ll have time to head down to the water’s edge for a quick paddle or stroll along the esplanade and have a coffee at one of the precinct’s uber-trendy cafes (at your own expense).

Spectacular Sydney — it’s yours for the taking on this superb day out!

The tour was excellent. I had done it before and this time my sister and I were visiting and wanted to do it again. Our driver Cormac was fabulous. Very eager enthusiastic knowledgeable and personable. He was great. An excellent day for sure. Such a beautiful city. Julia greeted us in the morning and she was very welcoming and eager to offer suggestions. I would highly recommend it to anyone. Our driver Cormac made the trip.

We were under the impression this was a full day tour, when in reality it was two half day tours with the option of a lunchtime time tour. The lunch break took two hours out of our day and the continuity was lost. The morning tour was really a tour of the housing with our “guide” Darryl acting more like a real estate salesman continually talking about the cost of housing. We eventually got to Manly beach which was nice even though the weather was not good. The afternoon tour was a little better with time at Bondi beach. However because it was a separate tour there was a lot of duplication of information from the morning tour. I know there is a massive amount of construction work taking place but this did not seem to affect access to the library, the Cathedral, Olympic Park, the Tower, Darling harbour, and the interesting parts of Sydney not housing estates. I feel the hop on hop off bus would have been better value.

We started early at 7:10am. Peter greeted us heartily and was a fabulous host on our bus guided tour all day. The cruise staff were not as welcoming, however the food was great and the views of Sydney Harbour were great.

We had John as our all day tour guide. Very caring and thoughtful. Wanting the best excursion for his guests. Very knowledgeable. You can tell he takes pride in his job. The lunch meal was fine. No need to spend the extra money on the window seats if the weather is nice. We were fortunate that the weather was nice and we could go up on top of the boat.

This was a great tour if you have a limited time in Sydney and want to see a bit if eveything. We did the full day tour which had a 2 hour lunch break if you didn't do the lunch cruise to walk around in between the morning and afternoon tours. We went on a terribly rainy morning but it cleared up in the afternoon. Great opportunities for photos and some stunning views. Glen was a great guide and is very knowledgeable. The only downside was the fog on the Windows in the tour bus in the morning which meant I couldn't see for about an hour of the drive bit again it cleared up in the afternoon.

On our 2nd day in Sydney we decided to take this lunch/beach tour. We were not staying at one of their pick-up hotels but the taxi to the pick-up point was reasonable. The bus picked us up at the appointed time and dropped us off at the pier with no instructions as to where to go for the lunch cruise. We finally found the dock for the boat and the Harbour cruise gave us another aspect of the Bridge and Opera House for more photos. The lunch was adequate but there was more confusion where we were to board the bus for the tour to Bondi Beach which was very interesting due to the expertise of our guide. The beach was fairly crowded even though the weather was cool.
