‘It may be a long day, but it is well worth it! Our initial stop at the Featherdale Wildlife Park was very interesting. There are so many unique animals and birds in Australia. Then we headed for the Blue Mountains, which included several lookout stops, the Scenic World rides, and the trip back down the mountains to amazing Sydney. Our guide Jed was really excellent; well-versed and personable. He went out of his way to make sure everyone had a great day.’ DCtravellerDc

What you can expect

If you want to see incredible views and maximise the photo opportunities (and yes, the selfies!) during your visit to the magical Blue Mountains, then you can’t go past this Blue Mountains Day Tour with Scenic World Rides. It’s your opportunity to see the UNESCO World Heritage-listed landscape from every conceivable angle as you ride the incomparable Scenic Railway, Skyway and Cableway at Scenic World in Katoomba. Scenic World is one of the top reasons so many visitors flock to this sublime piece of New South Wales, and the tickets for your three rides are included in the cost of your tour. You can sit back, relax and Insta to your heart’s content!

Once selected CBD hotel pick-ups have been completed, you’ll depart Sydney in a comfortable, air-conditioned coach. Your first stop is the renowned Featherdale Wildlife Park at Doonside. Here you’ll have the opportunity to meet a range of native Australian animals. There are wallabies and kangaroos to hand-feed, and beautiful birds to admire. It’s also a chance for visitors to learn about Australia’s endangered species. [More]

After departing the wildlife park, this Blue Mountains Day Tour with Scenic World Rides begins to climb the Blue Mountains proper — passing through several small towns and villages. Your next destination is Echo Point in the mountain township of Katoomba for a photo opportunity in front of the famous Three Sisters rock formation. You’ll also have time to take in the sweeping views across the Jamison Valley. It’s Australia’s answer to the Grand Canyon!

From there, it’s a very short drive to Scenic World on the clifftop overlooking the Jamison Valley and Katoomba Falls. You’ll have ample free time to ride the Scenic Railway, Cableway and Skyway in the order of your choice.

The Scenic Skyway is a 720-metre trip from one side of a deep ravine to the other, travelling in a cable car suspended 270 metres above the forested terrain below! The 360-degree views are sensational.

The Scenic Cableway descends 545 metres into the Jamison Valley. The ride provides fabulous views of the Three Sisters, Orphan Rock and Katoomba Falls.

The Scenic Railway is the steepest passenger railway journey in the world. Once used to haul coal up from the mines on the valley floor (still visible), the Scenic Railway has been thrilling passengers of all ages for decades.

Sadly, it’s time to head for home — but instead of fighting the afternoon traffic all the way back to Sydney, you’ll board a river cruise boat at Homebush Bay Wharf and enjoy a relaxing trip along the Parramatta River to the CBD. Admire the magnificent homes that line the river and cruise right under the soaring Sydney Harbour Bridge. The tour ends at Circular Quay.

This Blue Mountains Day Tour with Scenic World Rides offers guests a thrilling day out in one of Australia’s most stunning natural landscapes. It’s the ultimate ticket to ride!
