What you can expect

For those looking for a cost-effective introduction to the Blue Mountains west of the New South Wales capital, this boutique Blue Mountains Day Tour from Sydney is it! You’ll enjoy the services of a friendly, knowledgeable guide and see all the key sights — including the spectacular Three Sisters rock formation at Echo Point in Katoomba. You’ll also have the chance to visit Scenic World, where you can purchase tickets to any of the attractions you’re interested in. Keep the cost under control and enjoy a magic day in the mountains. It doesn’t get any better than that!

Once selected CBD hotel pick-ups have been completed, you’ll depart Sydney in a comfortable, air-conditioned coach. Your first stop is the renowned Featherdale Wildlife Park at Doonside. Here you’ll have the opportunity to meet a range of native Australian animals. There are wallabies and kangaroos to hand-feed, and beautiful birds to admire. It’s also a chance for visitors to learn about Australia’s endangered species. [More]

After departing the wildlife park, this Blue Mountains Day Tour from Sydney begins to climb the Blue Mountains proper — passing through several small towns and villages. Your next destination is Echo Point in the mountain township of Katoomba for a photo opportunity in front of the famous Three Sisters. You’ll also have time to take in the sweeping views across the Jamison Valley. It’s Australia’s answer to the Grand Canyon!

From there, it’s a very short drive to Scenic World on the clifftop overlooking the Jamison Valley and Katoomba Falls. Scenic World is home to the Scenic Railway, Cableway and Skyway. You can purchase tickets for the rides you want to take.

The Scenic Skyway is a 720-metre trip from one side of a deep ravine to the other, travelling in a cable car suspended 270 metres above the forested terrain below! The 360-degree views are sensational.

The Scenic Cableway descends 545 metres into the Jamison Valley. The ride provides fabulous views of the Three Sisters, Orphan Rock and Katoomba Falls.

The Scenic Railway is the steepest passenger railway journey in the world. Once used to haul coal up from the mines on the valley floor (still visible), the Scenic Railway has been thrilling passengers of all ages for decades.

Alternatively, spend your time browsing in the visitor centre, taking a short bushwalk or simply soaking up in those extraordinary views. Lunch is available for purchase.

After a busy day of sightseeing, it’s time to take it easy on the return trip to Sydney. You’ll board a river cruise boat at Homebush Bay Wharf and enjoy a relaxing trip along the Parramatta River to the CBD. Admire the magnificent homes that line the river and cruise right under the soaring Sydney Harbour Bridge. The tour ends at Circular Quay.

This Blue Mountains Day Tour from Sydney offers guests a superb day out in one of Australia’s most stunning natural landscapes, and represents amazing value. Enjoy!
