What you can expect
If you love the opulence of the 1920s era, and a good ‘whodunnit’, you are going to adore this Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries Walking Tour. Originally devised for the ‘Festival of Phryne’ in 2015, the tour proved so popular at the time that it has continued to operate.
Those familiar with the inimitable Miss Phryne Fisher — made famous through the popular books and ABC TV series — will know that the architecture and landmarks of Melbourne are as much lead characters as the lady herself. On this tour you’ll visit many of the CBD locations that have featured in the television series. [More]
The tour begins at the quirky Self Preservation Café, where the ambience and décor will take you back to the 1920s. Your tour guide is an absolute expert on both the original books and the TV production, and you’ll discuss your favourite episodes and storylines over an included afternoon tea.
Next, you’ll head off on foot at a relaxed pace to visit various filming locations from the series. These include well known landmarks such as Parliament House, the Old Treasury Building and the Hotel Windsor, and some lesser known locations as well. Rest assured there’ll be plenty of surprises along the way. As you stroll, your guide will bring up scenes from various episodes on her tablet and point out the landmarks featured.
To finish the tour in the most delightfully Phryne-inspired way, you’ll enjoy a specially created Phryne Fisher cocktail at the Gin Palace — one of the city’s fab inner-city watering holes.
Bring your favourite private detective’s world to life on this Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries Walking Tour around the city.
What a wonderful way to spend a Saturday afternoon in Melbourne. Our guide was lovely and passionate about the history and buildings of Melbourne. This tour started with a delightful afternoon tea (they said treat it as lunch . . . Well recommended because it was very filling) and then set off to explore the history of the buildings of Melbourne. While most of the tour was focussed on buildings used in the TV series Miss Fisher Murder Mysteries we also got glimpses and titbits on other significant buildings along the way. The tour was small and intimate which was good (there were six of us) and as well as getting to know Melbourne we got to know each other as well. The tour finishes with a cocktail at a lovely little bar. Would thoroughly recommend this tour and our guide was awesome. Thanks for a lovely afternoon.

Excellent tour with Kathy showing us around Miss Fisher's Melbourne. A must for fans of the show. When you have done walking tours before and still find out new information, you know you have an excellent guide. Cocktails at the end were a lovely finish to great tour.

I am a big fan of the show and this tour was a fantastic way of adding a deeper vision of it. Guide Kathy was superb! She told us about the history of Melbourne and weaved it nicely with the show by showing us clips from the show at the extact places where they were filming it. Starting the tour with afternoon tea and ending it with Phryne Fisher in gin palace was cherry on top of the cake! Would do it again any time and would warmly recommend it.
