‘We spent yesterday on a tour of Flemington Race Course and the National Sports Museum. The day was great and Tamara was a wonderful host. I am from Melbourne and we also drove into parts of the city I had never been to, which was great. Tamara was very knowledgeable and passionate about Melbourne and its sporting credentials. Lunch in the Docklands was very nice. Both the food and views were excellent. My wife and I would highly recommend this tour.’ Philip O

What you can expect
Experience the Victorian capital’s magnificent obsession with sport on this Melbourne Morning Sports Tour. What’s more, you can tailor the tour to your specific sporting interests by choosing to visit the mighty MCG or the National Sports Museum. It’s a tough call!
On this tour you can opt for the convenience of CBD hotel pick-up or meet your ‘sports guru’ guide at Federation Square. Your first stop is Flemington Racecourse in Melbourne’s inner west. Home to the world-renowned Melbourne Cup — the ‘race that stops a nation’ — you’ll be able to see the grandstand, finish line/post and exclusive members’ pavilion. [More]
Next you’ll enjoy a drive through the 2006 Commonwealth Games Athletes’ Village, and a quick (but not too quick!) lap around the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix street circuit in Albert Park. You’ll also pass by the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre.
The final stop on this Melbourne Morning Sports Tour is at your choice of venue. Choose one of the following options.
Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG)
At the iconic MCG, you’ll be treated to a tour of restricted areas that most people don’t get to see. You’ll visit the player change rooms, players’ balcony, Bill Lawry Cricket Centre and the Long Room, and take a walk on the hallowed turf (all subject to availability).
National Sports Museum
The National Sports Museum (located at the Melbourne Cricket Ground) is home to Australia’s most extensive collection of sporting memorabilia and a fabulous range of interactive and multimedia experiences. Visit the Sport Australia Hall of Fame, see the Shane Warne hologram, relive Australia’s Olympic glory and so much more.
This Melbourne Morning Sports Tour ends with a cafe-style lunch with your group of fellow sports fans at Marvel Stadium.
Please note: The order of venues visited on this tour may be changed for operational reasons. All venue visits are subject to availability. We will endeavour to inform you as early as possible if a particular venue will not be accessible on the day. A replacement activity will be provided.

My wife and I booked this trip as we are both mad on sport. The trip was really informative and we enjoyed every aspect of the trip. We were the only people booked onto the trip, but despite this they still ran the trip, which we were delighted about. The tour guide was very easy going and knew all aspects of the trip. He was very accommodating and went out of his way to help us. It was extremely well organised and can’t complain at all about it. If you like sport, do this excursion!

I'm not a big sports fan but I really enjoyed it. Flemington was definitely my favourite part. Our tour guide, Tamara, was great and showed us the course from the horses perspective which was really cool. The lunch was good. You won't be hungry afterwards They definitely fill your plate.
