‘We had just arrived and wanted to get an overview of Melbourne, so we booked this tour the night before. The tour does not pick-up at your hotel, but the meeting point is easily accessible via the Free Tram. Everything was great. We saw everything that was advertised. Overall, the tour provided a nice view of the area from the river, and again while driving around. A very good starting point, or a quick overview if you only have a little time to spend in Melbourne.’ LeeSki

We went for a river cruise first and then the city tour. Cruise was relaxing and informative. Great views of the bridges and buildings along Yarra river. City tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. He will try to drop you off as near to your hotel as possible, at the same time avoiding the traffic. Great if you do not have time to travel around the city yourself.

The tour includes 2 distinct parts: 1 h cruise down the Yarra at noon + 4.5 h mini-bus guided tour in the afternoon. Back to town at 18h00. The cruise is definitely worth the time. You have a good perspective of how the banks have developed in the last years. Also of the old docks (now converted into marina areas). Our guide for the afternoon tour was Jeff. As a non-anglophone, I had some trouble to get all the stories, but he did a great job in telling anecdotes and giving the historical perspective. The tour had 3 stops in the Botanical Garden (45 min), St Kilda beach (45 min) and Brighton Beach boxes (10 min). Overall, I think it's a great way to see the broader picture of the city. Mind you, the guided tour is not about the CBD, but rather the nice outskirts of the city (much appreciated).

My husband and I went on this tour on our first day in Melbourne. The river cruise is an hour long, though there isn't a great deal to snap away at, compared to where we had just come from, which was Singapore. Be warned to remember where you have to return to for the city tour, as there's no one to meet you after the cruise or point you in the right direction. A number of us lost our way for a while, but found it eventually. Our city tour guide was David, who we must say was excellent. Informative, knowledgeable, chatty and happy throughout. Nothing was ever too much trouble and he was very polite. The tour is a highlight tour of Melbourne’s southern side, with a number of stops which gives you ample time to get off, look around, take photos and have a comfort stop, should you need it. You can then go back to those places yourself later, if you want and spend more time. He dropped us all off as close to our respective hotels as he could. If your time is short in Melbourne, this tour is recommended.
