Here’s an overview of the tours and guided experiences on offer in Australia’s key urban centres.
Sydney
Sydney has a large number of food walks and history tours on offer that explore the city’s colonial past, along with a variety of day cruises on the world-famous harbour. The Blue Mountains National Park and Hunter Valley are two of the country’s most popular destinations for Australian day tours.
Melbourne
Melbourne is Australia’s unofficial capital of sport, culture, food, wine and shopping. The city has a large number of food, history and architectural walks, and guided walks through the inner-city laneways are also a popular option. Australian day tours to the Great Ocean Road and Phillip Island penguins should not be missed.
Brisbane
Brisbane offers a number of food walks and history tours, and cruises on the Brisbane River are understandably popular. To the south lies the Gold Coast, which is a popular day tour option, while half way between Brisbane and the Gold Coast is the Mount Tamborine wine region. Shimmering Moreton Bay offers a number of day cruises and island-hopping tours.
Hobart
Hobart is Australia’s second oldest capital city. The Tasmanian capital offers a wealth of colonial architecture to enjoy. Guided walks around the city centre are a must, as are day tours to some of the region’s spectacular natural landscapes, including Bruny Island.
Adelaide
Over in South Australia, Adelaide is renowned for its wine and food experiences. World-class wine producing regions such as the Barossa Valley can be easily accessed on Australian day tours from the city.
Perth & Fremantle
To the far west, and while Perth is the world’s most remote state capital city, it’s packed with cosmopolitan touring experiences. Food and bar safaris in the inner city will reveal a vibrant dining and social scene. With spectacular beaches and the beautiful Swan River, there are also plenty of activities on the water.
Darwin
Located in the Top End, laid-back Darwin is the gateway to many of Australia’s most iconic landscapes – including Kakadu National Park and Arnhem Land. Fishing tours are particularly popular, as are wetland cruises — where you can go in search of the infamous saltwater crocodile. You’ll also come face to snout with big salties at Crocosaurus Cove.

Cairns & Tropical North Queensland
In tropical North Queensland, two World Heritage-listed landscapes meet side by side near Cairns — the magnificent Great Barrier Reef and Daintree Rainforest. There are plenty of Australian day tours that will introduce you to these pristine natural environments. Prepare to be amazed!
